Path of Least Resistance:
Finishing my Bachelor's Degree has been a challenge with working full-time, and juggling family time with my wife and daughter. It is a hard balance, and my first instinct is to take the path of least resistance to complete the degree. Elder Bednar helped remind me that it is important to do your best and work hard, not just for the grades but to become competent in your learning. Competency and diligence are the keys to growing and advancing in life.

Never give up or give in:
In life, there will be plenty of opportunities to give up or give in. In these moments we can show our true character and ambition by not giving in.
Accept that Life is Hard and Seldom Fair:
I've learned this lesson before this class many times in life, however, it is a good reminder that not everything will go your way but if you push through you can ultimately reach your goals.
Dream Big: One of my favorite songs by Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband is "Dream Big". I think the song illustrates perfectly why we should dream big. We were not put on this earth to be mediocre. When we shoot too low we never reach our full potential.
Choose Your Fellow Travelers Well:
One of my favorite books is "Surround Yourself with Greatness" by Chad Lewis. This book shows the importance of surrounding yourself with people that will lift you up and help you achieve your goals. I think it is important to develop relationships with people you want to be like.
Living a life of meaning is about living a life with intent:
The Lord loves effort and intent. We should not be lazy in life. To have meaning in our life we need to live each day to the fullest. Every day is a gift and we should not be idle. We can learn and grow every day and find meaning in life by having our purpose at the front of our minds.
